Use Amazon’s Extended Return Policy to Get the Best Holiday Deals
We all know that holiday shopping can quickly become stressful. Apart from the budget and family members who find it difficult to shop, the timing of your shopping is difficult. If you buy too late, there may be nothing left to put under the tree (or you risk paying a premium price). But if you start too early, you may miss the return window. That’s why choosing stores with extended return policies – and using those policies to promote you so you can keep looking for better deals in the meantime – is the best gift buying strategy this year.
Amazon, for example, offers an extended return window for most products you buy before Christmas. As part of the extended return window, you will be allowed to return these products until January 31, 2023. Best Buy has a similar return policy for products purchased between now and December 31, 2022; You can return these purchases until January 14, 2023. (See this page for more details.)
An extended return window is definitely nice if something needs to be returned after the holidays, but the big benefit of this policy is that you can keep looking for better deals on the same product from other retailers as we get closer to Christmas. (Just be aware that you may be charged a restocking fee depending on the product and where you live, so check this before placing new orders.)
Of course, these policies will only apply to returnable items, so check all return policies before purchasing. Remember also that some retailers offer a guaranteed price . You should check if the store offers this policy and use the price comparison tool to try and find the best deal. If one priced store has the best return policy and another has the best price, you can get the best deal with the first store.
