You Have to Make Hand Bites of Endive Salad

We’re fast approaching the holiday gathering season, and the gathering calls for hand-held products. The ideal party meals are no more than a few bites, require no utensils, and are fairly self-sufficient. Salad is not the best party food, but lettuce slices are great party food.

As you know, most salads are made up of a bunch of greens and a lot of other stuff. Other foods are usually a few other vegetables, maybe fruits, and often meats and/or cheeses. The salad piece changes the ratio of greens and other products in favor of products that are contained in an elegant and surprisingly fragrant little cup of chicory.

Raw endive, for the uninitiated, is crisp and bitter, making it the perfect foil for a variety of fatty, savory, and sweet fillings. It provides such a “leafy” flavor that you just don’t need that many leaves. (Actually, you only need one sheet.)

Turning a salad into an appetizer is easy. Choose your favorite salad—in my case, a wedge—and cross a portion of the salad off the list of ingredients. Combine all other ingredients in a bowl (with dressing), then spread mixture over individual endive leaves. Made.

(In the case of panzanella, cut the bread into small toasts.) You can also stuff endive leaves in non-lettuce salads such as cucumbers and tomatoes , noodle salad, or any of the classic delicacies ( chicken , tuna , eggs , etc.). ).

The only way to ruin salad bowls is not to cut the filling into small enough pieces. For example, large slices of cucumber can slip out of the cup when pulled by the teeth, making it impossible for you to enjoy every slice of cucumber (and potentially ruining your nice shirt). Cut the filling into small pieces if possible, and don’t forget to mix them into the dressing to give them some stickiness – finger bites are only enjoyable if you can eat them without spilling everything on yourself.
