The Easiest Way to Delete All Your Old IPhone Screenshots
You probably take screenshots every day, whether it’s a place you want to remember, an image you want to save, or a text thread you want to share. Your Photos app is probably littered with screenshots from the last few months, if not years, overflowing your photo library and taking up space on your iPhone and iCloud.
It is clear why all these screenshots are still there: it is tedious to get rid of them. But this iOS shortcut from Gadget Hacks aims to solve the problem by allowing you to delete all your screenshots with a single tap (excluding recent screenshots, hidden photos, and favorites).
How to delete all old screenshots at once
To get started, download the automatic screenshot deletion shortcut. Click ” Get Label ” and add it to your label library. Then tap the three-dot menu in the quick access field to customize it.
The shortcut automatically ignores screenshots taken in the last week, as well as those in your Favorites album. You can edit this data or add additional exclusions.
When you’re ready, return to the home screen and tap the shortcut. If you have a lot of screenshots in your library, give the shortcut some time. Once the scan is complete, you’ll see a hint about how many screenshots the shortcut can delete. Use the ” Delete ” option to delete all your screenshots at once.
If you have too many screenshots, the Shortcuts app won’t be able to delete them all for you. Instead, you’ll see a prompt asking you to enable this feature in Settings. Go to ” Settings ” > ” Shortcuts ” and enable ” Allow deletion of large amounts of data “. Re-launch the shortcut and you can delete all screenshots directly.
