What to Do With Instagram After a Breakup?
Getting in and out of relationships can be hard enough, but the advent of social media has really made it harder, frustrating in new ways. Now we use the Internet to find dates that, if we’re lucky, will turn into real flings. Then we should take the time and think of a strategy for revealing ( or at least hinting at) that we are related to each other and how many relationship moments we share. But after the romance dries up, we are faced with a new dilemma: what happens in our little phone-clouded brain after a breakup. You’re probably already fighting the dangerous urge to browse your ex’s social profiles for clues as to where they’re moving . But what about your profile, not to mention your general online behavior?
Do you delete (or at least archive) all the old photos of your ex? Are you tweeting or posting more than usual on your Story to give your ex-lover the impression that you’re thriving in his absence, even if you’re not? Do you take a short break and enjoy a social media break?
Let us know how you are dealing with the public online face of your breakups. As much as we’d like to pretend it doesn’t matter, who among us hasn’t delved into someone else’s Instagram feed after suspecting they’ve gone through a conscious denouement? People are watching, so let’s figure out together what to do about it.
