How to Show Your Wi-Fi Password
Your cellular connection is constant, but your Wi-Fi connection is very different. You probably have several places where your phone automatically connects to the local network: your home, your office, a cafe you frequent, your friend’s house, or even a public square. Your iPhone or Android smartphone saves the password for every connection, so you never have to think about it again. That is, unless someone asks for it, or you need to connect to the network on another device.
You don’t have to go to your Wi-Fi router’s administration page or search through the command line on your PC to find it—both iPhone and Android have built-in features that reveal the Wi-Fi password for a connected network. and they are both easy to use.

On Android, the Wi-Fi password for the connected network may show up in the share menu if you’re using Android 10 or higher. This applies to all OEMs using stock Android. Open the Settings app and go to the Wi-Fi section. Select your connected network, and then on the details page, click the Share button. You’ll see a QR code that will help anyone instantly connect to your network, and if you look below the code, you’ll see the Wi-Fi password written in plain text.
If you’re using an Android smartphone that doesn’t have the stock version of Android installed but uses a shell (such as Samsung), you can still access this feature; however, the steps to get there can be different. Once you get to the Wi-Fi network page, look for the “Share” button to reveal the password.
