7 “scientific” Theories of the Formation of the Universe That Reject the Big Bang
The Big Bang Theory has been the most widely accepted foundation for our understanding of the universe since it was first proposed by Georges Lemaitre in 1927 . In short, he claims that all matter in the entire universe was once crammed into a baseball-sized mass until it began to rapidly expand outward about 13.8 billion years ago. The concept is a little tricky to figure out (where did baseball come from?), but plenty of evidence , including observed phenomena, supports the theory—and almost every scientist says they do. That’s enough for me, but most Americans don’t seem to believe it .
That’s what they believe instead.
