11 Things to Consider Before Getting a Pet, According to Lifehacker Readers
Last week we asked you what you’d like to know before getting your own pet, and as always, Lifehacker readers answered. (I also asked for some cute pet photos; unfortunately you didn’t provide nearly as many as I would have liked).
Letting an animal into your life is not an easy task. It is important to remember that each pet has a unique personality and that you must be emotionally and physically prepared to meet their special needs. To do this, start by having an honest conversation with yourself on the following topics before giving yourself to a being who will rely on you for everything. At the very least, make sure you’re ready to dye whatever you like with cat hair.
