23 of Betty White’s Best and Funniest Performances

Betty White’s first role came in 1930, when she played an orphan in a silly radio drama called Empire Builders. Her last appearance will take place in a few weeks as part of filming birthday tributes for theaters. For the past 91 years, she has been a local TV star, guest and game show host, film actor, writer, animal advocate and casual rapper.

Sadly, with many of her early work lost, Betty made a career in entertainment even before television was broadcast nationally or permanently. This is hundreds of hours of material that could only be enjoyed at a particular moment, but there is still a lot left: a lot of TV comedies, but also in dramas from films, in a soap opera (she started showing the series The Bold and Beautiful ( she is in her 80s) and a particularly memorable horror film.Her roles as Sue Ann Nivens in The Mary Tyler Moore Show or (of course) as Rose Nylund in Golden Girls would be more than enough to make any other career … but indefatigable character Betty and her genuine love for her work have left us with entertainment for decades, and in her life and work, she must take a crash course in television and entertainment in the 20th and early 21st century in general.

Her ruthless (and apparently completely sincere) positivity seemed tiresome in the early stages of her career, but – especially when combined with her resourceful audacity – began to feel like an antidote to the incessant wave of difficult news that has brought us the past few years. … With a little sadness that it was over, but mostly with gratitude for what happened, here are some of her best, best, and funniest moments.
