9 Thanksgiving Dishes Your Vegan Guests Will Love
The traditional Thanksgiving menu isn’t exactly vegan (or even vegetarian). Nearly every dish contains cream, butter, eggs, or turkey broth, all centered around a large dead bird.
Because of this, vegetarians, vegans and people with lactose intolerance may feel less grateful, which is not the kind of mood I like to cultivate among my guests. In my experience, most vegans are more than willing to bring a few meals that suit their diet, but you can make your meat and dairy-free friends feel welcome and loved with just a few tweaks and complementary meals.
On a personal note: this year I will be using the following recipes and techniques a lot. My sister is allergic to milk proteins, my boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and two of my very good friends are vegans and vegetarians. But I’m not worried. I got this and you too.
