5 Ways to Use Leftover Rice
When you find you have leftover rice left over, your first instinct may be to use it to make fried rice. (And your instincts are right, dried day rice is preferred over fresh rice.) As delicious as this option is, there are many other ways to use up leftovers.
Before we get into some of the ways to use the leftover rice, it is important to note that you should not leave the rice at room temperature for more than a couple of hours – this can cause you severe illness due to a pathogen called Bacillus. cereus, commonly found in dry rice. If you’re going to go the fried rice route and don’t want to wait until the next day, you can also blow-dry it with a fan until it reaches the consistency you want. To do this, spread the rice on a baking sheet, then place it under the fan for about an hour until it dries.
