How to Install One UI 4 Beta on Your Galaxy S21
We’re fast approaching the estimated Android 12 release date (with all the evidence pointing to the software being released on October 4th), and as that date approaches, Android smartphone manufacturers are preparing their devices for a new update. Samsung is no different: the company just released the first beta of One UI 4, and if you have a Galaxy S21 device, you can install it now.
One UI is a skin for Android from Samsung; Basically, it is the company that has adopted the Android OS, bringing Google’s features and system to Galaxy phones while adding Samsung-specific options and looks. As such, One UI 4 is Samsung’s skin for Android 12. Before the company can publish it, it needs to test the software with a beta program to fix any bugs or issues.
What’s new in One UI 4?
One UI 4 includes many of the latest Android 12 features . Specifically, Samsung emphasizes that you will have more control over customizing your device, including themes, home screen, icons, widgets, and more. Privacy is also at the center of attention; you’ll see indicators that alert you to apps using your camera and microphone, and you’ll be able to view your permission history for the last seven days (up from the current 24-hour default).
Which Galaxy phones are compatible with One UI 4 beta?
With any new beta software, your first question is probably whether your smartphone is compatible. Unfortunately, this beta is pretty exclusive – only Galaxy S21 devices are currently participating. These include:
- Galaxy S21
- Galaxy S21 +
- Galaxy S21 Ultra
The company hasn’t announced plans to include additional Galaxy devices in the One UI 4 beta.
How do I install the One UI 4 beta on my Galaxy S21?
