Another Good Reason to Use Safari on Your IPhone
We recently talked about how you can hide your browsing history from ad trackers in Safari, which is great, but one of the reasons many people hesitate to use Safari is because it looks a little boring compared to other browsers. But Apple is trying to change that in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. Now you have a modular start page with a customizable background – and you should have some fun.
But by default, Safari shows a lot here. You can see your favorites, reading list and privacy report, not to mention the annoying Shared With You section, which has links shared in the Messages app. Luckily, you can add, remove, and reorder any module you want.
First, open the Safari app on your iPhone or iPad. If you’re not already on the new tab page, click the Tabs button in the bottom toolbar, right below the URL bar (if you don’t like the URL bar, you can bring it back to the top ). Then click the Plus button to open a new tab.
Here scroll down the page and click the ” Edit ” button.
You will now find all the modules at the top. You can turn on or off the Favorites, Most Visited, Shared With You, Privacy Report, Siri Suggestions, Reading List, and iCloud Tabs pods. Use the three-line handle icon to drag and reposition the module. You can also select Use iCloud Start Page Appearance to ensure that the settings are consistent across all connected iCloud devices.
Then turn on the Background Image feature to see a list of all available background images. Click on the background image to switch to it. You can also press the Plus button to select any image from your camera roll. When you’re done customizing your Home screen, click the X Close button at the top. That’s it – your new start page will be updated and ready.
