8 Myths About COVID Vaccines and How to Debunk Them
It was interesting to watch as rumors of a COVID vaccine evolve (mutate?) In the months after the vaccines were first introduced. At first, many of the myths were based on the fact that we didn’t know much about vaccines. But now we have much less opportunity to justifiably fuel fear, as we have three different ones, they were allowed in the US for five months, numerous safety and efficacy studies have confirmed the original trial data, and almost half of Americans received at least one dose.
Myths these days tend to be revised anti-vax tropes borrowed from disinformation campaigns about old vaccines, although many of the earlier rumors are still circulating. Let’s take a look at some of the more “popular” ones.
