How to Turn Off Purchase Notifications in Edge Chromium
You might not regret that your Edge Chromium browser is trying to help you save money, but it can be annoying when a message pops up for a tip about money back programs and saving coupons. Sometimes the deals are great; in other cases, they are more annoying than helpful.
I like to think of myself as a pretty smart shopper, and I’ve found that hints like these – and similar browser extensions like Honey – don’t often improve my shopping experience. Either the sites rarely have a wild promo code (Amazon), or I shop there strategically because I know it’s a bargain (thanks Slickdeals ).
If you are like me, you can disable these requests in Edge Chromium. And you might want to, as you will get them by default after you first install the browser.
How to disable additional services Edge Chromium
To get started, open your browser settings by clicking on the three dots icon in the upper right corner, and then click on ” Settings” . Next, you’ll want to click on Privacy, Search & Services and start scrolling down until you see the Services section. In it, look for the “Save time and money shopping in Microsoft Edge” option. Disable this.
While you’re there, you can make sure Pinterest is also disabled if you use the Browser’s Collections feature a lot but don’t need Pinterest as much. In addition, with the Address Bar and Search option, you can change the default search engine that your browser uses whenever you enter something into its address bar. You will also be able to completely disable your browser suggestions if you are not a fan of them.
However, if you plan on sticking to shopping tips, know that you don’t have to wait for your browser to offer you a deal on the website. If you are impatient or the process freezes for some reason, just look for a small icon with a price tag in the far right corner of the browser address bar. Click on it and you will be able to see any offers, promotions, and other offers Microsoft finds, wherever you shop.
