Store Bath Bombs With Clothing or Bedding

Bath bombs have two main functions: they look good and they smell good. The colored sand balls are designed to turn your bathtub into bubbling, lathering, luscious psychedelic water the moment you throw them into the bathtub, but for them to work effectively, you must keep them as dry as possible. until you are ready to use them.

Bath bombs start to sizzle due to the acid-base reaction that starts when you put them in moisture. Think of the baking soda and vinegar volcanoes you did as a kid – it’s basically a bath bomb, except that the acid is crystallized critical acid (instead of liquid acetic acid) and there are many other ingredients like moisturizing oils , beautiful dyes and annoying glitters. Once this crystallized acid enters the water, it dissolves and begins to interact with the baking soda, and that’s when the magic happens. It takes a little water to make things really sizzle, but sitting in a humid environment (like the bathroom) can ruin your bath bomb as it waits to be deployed.

I say don’t keep them in your bathroom. That’s where the water is. Instead, store them in a laundry cupboard, underwear drawer, or other container for storing fabric. It will keep the bombs in top shape and infuse scent into your sheets, delicacies or socks.

Store bath bombs in their original packaging, or put them in a small brown paper bag and hide them in drawers and cabinets to give things in these areas a nicer smell. Bonus: it can keep your cats out of your underwear drawer. Cats usually don’t care about scents, especially if they’re heavily weighted with citrus fruits (don’t know how they feel about patchouli).
