What’s New on Netflix in March 2021
In the absence of broadly compelling new movies and TV series (I’m afraid there won’t be any Oscar contenders this month), Netflix seems to be looking into the podcast marketplace to figure out how to keep its huge subscriber base happy. His new offerings in March include many documentaries and specials that I would listen to in full if they were podcasts. I will be watching? Well, I won’t. (I haven’t even seen Ted Lasso yet.) But you could. Operation: Varsity Blues (March 17) is sure to grab attention as we were all mesmerized by the college admissions scandal that toppled cultural titans like Felicity Huffman, Full House’s aunt Becky, and the fashion mogul who once designed the paper towel. holder I bought from Target. Everyone is still angry at how these past ones manipulated a system already weighted in their favor to send their kids to “good” colleges, and for good reason. The documentary is produced by the same team that sensationalized the early Tiger King pandemic . Murder Among Mormons (March 3) is some kind of frivolous tale of real-life crimes that seems to have been a podcast that you signed up to last year but forgot to listen to. He delves into the series of bombings that terrorized Salt Lake City in the mid-1980s. And an inspiring story of perseverance in the shape of a dream of hoops, Last Chance U: Basketball (March 10) is a spin-off of Netflix’s multi-year series Last Chance. U. This shifts the focus from football to varsity basketball players who have struggled in their lives and academics and must play at the junior college level if they hope to return to Division play. I am personally thrilled to see how well the Pacific Rim movie series translates into anime in Pacific Rim: Black , which comes out on March 4th (anime giant robots? That might work!). The Irregulars (March 26) has a lot of potential Buffy / Sabrina : a series about young fighters against paranormal crime based on the famous Sherlock Holmes movie “Fighters from Baker Street.” And then there’s Moxie (March 3), a drama about a girl who launches’ A Magazine Exposing Sexism in Her High School, which sounds pretty cultured and is also the directorial debut of a certain Amy Poehler.
That’s all that comes and goes from Netflix in March 2021.
