Get a Free Can of Wine If You Write to This Company Instead of the Former

Let’s face it: We’re getting closer to Valentine’s Day after being stuck at home for almost a year, and the temptation to write to an ex is stronger than ever. This usually doesn’t bother you at all, but it’s strange, and if you’ve watched a lot of TV and movies lately, you’ve probably seen countless number of Valentine’s Day storylines at this stage, and they may have gotten to you.

But you probably don’t want to text your ex . And as an added incentive, one company is offering free (canned) wine (spritzers) to those who write to them instead of their exes. Here’s how to take advantage of it.

How to get free wine for not texting your ex

The premise is simple. Instead of texting your ex, write “U UP?” to 73255. You will then receive instructions on how to get your free wine, courtesy of MOVO Wine Spritzers (which is part of the Molson Coors Beverage Company).

It’s a kind of process.

First, you must purchase four packs of canned wine syringes of any flavor from your local beverage store by February 28, 2021 (and yes, that means you must be 21 to get in).

Then take a photo of the receipt, which should include the seller’s name and the product name or item code. (So if your local liquor store uses these tiny paper receipts with faded blue ink, it’s just a bunch of numbers and nothing else, you can make your purchase elsewhere – at least for that. Otherwise, support your local liquor stores, regardless of the quality of their check.)

Following the original instructions received in the text message, send the receipt to MOVO no later than March 7, 2021. Once they receive your receipt, you will receive a compensation payment via Paypal or Venmo of up to $ 13. If you do not have a PayPal or Venmo account, you will receive a notification with instructions to create an account and must accept payment within 30 days or your discounted funds will be canceled. Additional fine print

Yes, of course, this is just a great way for Molson Coors to get your cell phone number and personal information so you can taste their wine syringe from cans. Plus, they don’t require any proof that you haven’t texted your ex, so you can technically get free canned wine spritzers and exchange awkward catch-up text messages with your ex.

Personally, I won’t take advantage of this offer, but I have no doubt what would have happened if I had done so: After settling in for an evening of sitcom reruns, I would hack into a can (or several) of a spritzer. As soon as I began to feel this (which, frankly, after a year of lack of drink, it will happen quickly), I remembered the first time I bought this can of spritzer, and laughed out loud, alone. My apartment.

Inevitably, I thought to myself, “Do you know who would find this whole situation really funny?” – obviously referring to the former. Deciding it was too good not to share, I wrote to the person who was awarded for not writing in the first place and told them all about the specific reason I got in touch (promotion and absolutely no other reason).

Maybe this is the real marketing strategy of MOVO – in that case, I would take the can of a syringe to this strangely specific but ingenious move. Anyway, please drink and write responsibly.
