How to Prevent Spoilers on Twitter

After hearing that there has been some unexpected turn at WandaVision , you may be worried about logging into any social media. We’ve already talked about a number of tricks you can use to avoid social media spoilers , but here’s another one to add to the mix: Hide Twitter Trends .

This aptly named Chrome extension does exactly what it suggests. Install it and your Twitter home page will look like this:

This is a real cleansing of information – basically everything on the right side of Twitter’s user interface. However, it will help ensure that your Twitter user interface stays as spoiler-free as possible, even though it won’t do anything with your actual feed. To do this, make sure you continue to use our tips fordisabling keywords related to content you don’t want to see. You can set these blocks permanently, or say 30 days from today’s date, in the hope that by then the internet chatter about any spoiler topic that bothers you has died down.

While Twitter trends are pretty boring in general, I wouldn’t think you’d be spoiler-proof by just not looking at them. However, there have been cases where key media moments have been tainted by Twitter’s “useful” feature:

So unfortunately, you’ll want to disable keywords and install a browser extension – and even so, hope someone doesn’t realize that “Dort” Vader is Luke’s father. And of course, if your media is that important to you, it might be best not to use Twitter at key moments.
