Eat Half of the Whole Bagel Instead of the Other

There are two types of bagel eaters: those who eat their bagels half at a time, and those who eat them as a sandwich, even if cream cheese is the only filling. If you’re in the second group (like my boyfriend), the next tiny but clever trick isn’t for you. But if you are a member of the first group (my group): welcome, I have a proposal.

In my opinion, the best bagels are the ones that have something on the outside. My favorite bagels and onion bagels, although I don’t hate poppy seeds. The only downside to these bagels is that they tend to fall off when you eat the bagel, which is a real waste because they are delicious.

This is why I always check each half of my bagel, determine which one has the most (there is always a clear winner), and then eat that half over half with fewer foods. The material then enters the cream cheese in half a bagel with fewer ingredients, which not only prevents material wastage, but also adjusts the ingredient ratio. I think this is what is known as mindful eating, but I’m not sure. (I also examine each side of each Dorito to see which one has the most seasoning, and then eat her side down, facing my tongue.)

If you’re a bagel sandwich lover, all is not lost. You can always eat your bagel on top of anything else, like a nice green salad or cucumbers (spread with a little cream cheese). Anything about bagels works pretty well with foods other than bagels, you might as well let one of these foods benefit from the excess.
