Scroll Through IOS Settings With This Shortcut
After the release of iOS 14.3, I dug a little deeper into iOS 14 and came across a little trick I never knew about before, even though I’ve been using iPhones since they launched in 2007. Such is the joy of technology.
It doesn’t change your life, but it will save you a few precious seconds when setting up iOS or iPadOS on your device. This is how it works. Open the Settings app and navigate through it – jump a few screens deeper into the menu, as usual, trying to set a new DNS for your Wi-Fi, adjust accessibility settings, or check iPhone storage.
When you’re ready to return to another screen to continue with the setup, do not click the Back button in the upper left corner. A context menu will then appear that will allow you to immediately jump to any previous screen in the nested menu tree, for example:
That’s it: a tiny time-saver that comes in handy whenever you change the settings on your device. Even tiny tricks are productivity tricks, right?
Now that I know this option exists, I think it’s time for Apple to take it to the next level: give me the ability to Favorite the settings screens I use the most and prioritize them in a list above the ones I never have. do not touch, for example VPN, for example, or wallpaper. Yes, this will break the “flow” of settings, but that’s okay; I get tired of looking for specific, commonly used screens when I could just stick on the ones that are most relevant to me.
I know you can kind of get this feature by long-pressing the Settings icon on the home screen to bring up the context menu , but you can’t customize which one you care about the most with the settings menu. So let’s go.
