Get Free $ 50 Chromecast As a YouTube TV Subscriber

Until the end of December, Google is providing regular YouTube TV subscribers with a free Chromecast from Google TV (typically $ 49). Trick? You will need to subscribe to YouTube TV from June 2018 with no pause or cancellation to qualify for the free Chromecast.

Google notifies eligible customers via the email address of their YouTube TV accounts, so check your inboxes if you’re part of this dedicated group. The offer is only valid until December 31st, giving you just a few weeks to get your free Chromecast before the deal is finalized.

Chromecast with Google TV is the latest version of Google’s minimalistic streaming device. Older Chromecast were simpler receiver dongles for your TV to which you could cast your mobile or desktop streaming apps, but this model comes with a dedicated remote and Google’s cross-platform streaming interface, Google TV. This is much closer to a Roku or Fire TV device than older Chromecast devices.

You can install apps like Netflix, Hulu and of course YouTube TV and access video content on Google Play directly through Chromecast from Google TV. It supports 4K HDR playback and will receive Stadia support in 2021 (although you can unofficially download the Stadia app before that ).

Such unexpected free gifts are the unspoken advantage of Google’s many subscription services. YouTube Premium subscribers previously received free Nest speakers, Chromecast, and paid Google Stadia subscriptions by subscription only.

However, Google gives out these gifts at random, and it is impossible to predict if another deal will fall or when it will happen. Free Chromecast with Live TV is likely to be a lifesaver for long-term YouTube TV users, as Google raised the monthly cost of the service earlier this year.
