Decorate Your WhatsApp Chats With Custom Wallpapers
Want your own background for tons of WhatsApp conversations? It might sound like a mess, but adding wallpaper to chats gives you a great visual reminder of which group you’re talking to. And of course, it brings WhatsApp to life from a dull (but delightful) gray that you might otherwise like.
First, update WhatsApp through Google Play or the App Store. Launch the app, enter a chat or group and click on the name of the person you are talking to (or the name of the group) at the top of the chat. This will open the conversation settings and you will see a new option that you can click: Wallpaper and Sound .
Click on the ” Choose a New Wallpaper” option and you will see many options built into WhatsApp from which you can choose. You can also give the app access to your photos and choose whatever you want if you want to personalize your chats even more. Best of all, you can preview any wallpaper you are considering; just click on it and you will see how it looks under the conversation sample.
Once you’ve made your decision, hit ” Install” and your new wallpaper will be fine.
Remember that this way you only set the wallpaper for one conversation. If you want to set the default wallpaper for all your conversations – the ones that are only canceled when you follow the above steps to select specific wallpapers for your chat – you need to visit the WhatsApp settings using the icon in the bottom right corner. corner of the screen. From there, click on ” Chats” and then on ” Chat Wallpapers” and you’ll be guided through the same process to choose a wallpaper for all your new and existing conversations.
Another fun little quirk of this process should be noted: if you are discerning, you probably noticed that WhatsApp asks you to select the “[mode]” wallpaper in these windows: “Light” or “Dark”. Whatever wallpaper you choose for your conversations, it only applies when you are using that particular theme. If you choose “Light from the Dark” or vice versa, you can also choose a wallpaper for this theme.
This reasoning makes sense to me, as you will probably want a brighter wallpaper if you are using a lighter theme, or a darker wallpaper for a darker one. It would be great to be able to install both at once without having to change themes first, but that’s the way things are in WhatsApp.
