What’s New on Netflix in November 2020

Netflix just announced its November 2020 lineup and is looking at Hallmark. Not content with having a greeting card company that has become the hub of a seasonal industrial complex dominate the holidays, the streamer is launching a series of original Christmas films designed to calm you down after the election (but probably knowing ahead of time who will be president) nerves with a dose of hurray injected directly into the eyeballs. Let’s take a look at what’s next and rate each entry on the Holly Jolly scale. Operation Christmas Drop (November 5): Unfortunately, this is not a festive sequel to Operation Dumbo Drop . A busy congressional aide in pursuit of a promotion (isn’t she?), Erica skips Christmas with her family and travels overseas at the direction of her boss to visit an air force base that the government is looking for reasons to close. Can dreamy Captain Andrew Yantz convince her not to fire him – and win her heart – with Operation Christmas Fall, in which pilots drop gifts and supplies onto nearby islands? Or would she be justified in disgusting his blatant abuse of state property? Holly Jolly Ratings: A Christmas Triumph Jingle Jungle: A Christmas Journey (November 13): In the cherry town of Cobbletown, toy maker Jeronicus Jungle (Oscar-winning Forrest Whitaker; my lord) is known for his “fantastic inventions” that please everyone. But when his assistant (Keegan Michael-Key) steals his latest creation, Jungle’s granddaughter must save Christmas by helping her father “heal old wounds” and find his seasonal spirit. Advertised as a “musical adventure” featuring songs by John Legend, Usher and others. Holly Jolly Rating: Baby Tested, Mr Magorium Approved

Princess Switch: Switched again! (November 19): In the sequel to 2018’s The Prince and the Pauper The Princess Switch, Vanessa Hudgens again takes on a dual role as Margaret, Duchess of Montenaro, and Stacy DeNovo, a normal girl who just casually looks exactly the same. as the Duchess of Montenaro. After Margaret suddenly inherits her throne, she has trouble in her relationship with her boyfriend and turns to Stacey for help. Hmm, I understand where this is going. Holly Jolly Rating: Christmas Of The Dead Rings

Alien Christmas (Nov.20): Netflix’s description says it better than I could: “When a race of alien kleptomaniacs try to steal the Earth’s gravity to make it easier to take over everything on the planet, just the spirit of Christmas and gifts. a little alien named X can save the world. ” You know, this old familiar holiday fairy tale. Holly Jolly rating: defying gravity

Christmas Dolly Parton in the square (November 22): “A rich and vile woman” (again, isn’t it all?) Finds out that her father is dead, and immediately goes back to her humble hometown to evict everyone who lives in the property which he owns, so she can sell the land to a mall developer (in this economy?). Could the homegrown wisdom and domestic charm of the local townspeople make her change her mind? Maybe a soundtrack of 14 new Dolly Parton tunes will help? Holly Jolly Ratings: Hello Dolly If Christmas mood isn’t for you, there’s a lot more to come on Netflix this month, including the much-anticipated and Oscar-to-be adaptation of J.D. Vance’s bestselling ” Hillbilly Elegy” starring Ron Howard (24 November) starring Amy Adams. and Glenn Close and Mismatched, a new series based on the bestselling Indian-American youth novel When Dimple Met Rishi (date unspecified).

Here’s everything that comes and goes from Netflix next month.
