Watch Upcoming Specials on Race and Racism From PBS Kids and Sesame Street

PBS Kids and Sesame Street continue to provide opportunities for parents to talk to their children about race and racism. Two specials –PBS KIDS Talk About: Race and Racism and The Power of We: A Sesame Street Special will premiere next week to encourage families to browse and discuss topics together.

The Sesame Street special will feature Elmo; Abby Cadabby; 6-year-old Muppet Gabrielle; her cousin, 8-year-old Tamir, as well as various human actors, celebrities and musical guests as they learn how to become “protectors” in their community.

In the PBS KIDS Talk special, real kids and their parents will talk together about race, racism and how to actively speak out against racism. Moderated by youth poet laureate and activist Amanda Gorman :

PBS KIDS Talk About: Race and Racism will premiere Friday, October 9th on 24/7 PBS KIDS. The 30-minute special will be available on PBS stations nationwide (check your local listings). You can also stream it on PBSKIDS.org , the PBS KIDS Video app , Facebook , YouTube and Instagram .

The Power of Us: The Sesame Street special will air on HBO Max and PBS KIDS from Thursday 15 October; it will debut on PBS stations the same day (check your local listings). The special will also be rebroadcast throughout October and November on PBS stations and the 24/7 PBS KIDS channel.
