Learn How to Move Like the Avengers
Your child’s love for superheroes and their need to get up and physically move their bodies collide in the most vivid and cute way. Marvel has partnered with Les Mills and a group of fitness instructors to guide kids through a five-minute workout in which they learn to hit, kick, block, fly and throw the Avengers-style hammer.
Right now, PE teachers everywhere are using this short, immersive workout as a way to wake kids up and move around in their own homes for a few minutes during the pandemic:
Fair warning: Older kids who are in or near teens are more likely to find this childish and / or trashy – just ask my 10 year old. It really works best for the 4-6 age group (under 7 in most cases ).
Once you and your kids learn to move like the Avengers, if you’re so inclined, researchers at Solent University in the United Kingdom are looking at immersive physical activity and doing a 5-10 minute survey you can fill out about the experience.
