These Slicers Work Better Than … a Knife?
Here at Hack or Wack, we usually love testing viral hacks that blow people’s minds . But sometimes we also test hacks that people are very skeptical about from the start.
TikTok user @TegaReacts doesn’t seem to be impressed with these fruit slicing gadgets to be found on Amazon, as each element comes across with the same disdain:
“Just take the knife!”
So we’ve got our hands on some of those gadgets – a banana cutter, a zip cutter, and a strawberry peeler – to see how they stack up against the knife.
The banana slicer is a banana shaped plastic mold with multiple slats. It doesn’t seem to be of any use other than slicing the banana and you’re limited in the width of the slices and the size of the banana you choose. A zipper cutter is a tube into which small spherical fruits such as grapes or cherry tomatoes can be placed, with a blade that fits snugly against the center of the tube. The Strawberry de-WHAT (or, as Tega calls it in the video, “Strawberry de-WHAT”) is a spring-loaded claw that allows you to twist the white and green portions of the top of the strawberry. He definitely looks the coolest of them all.
