How to Change the Slack Font

With great power comes great responsibility. And I couldn’t emphasize that any more if I wanted to, because now I’m going to give you a tool that you might be tempted to use in a silly way: a tool to change the default font in Slack.

The hack is very simple:

That’s all. You can /slackfont Times New Roman , /slackfont Arial or /slackfont bunch of other silly ideas that will probably /slackfont you and will increase your productivity tenfold – or at least the first. For example, I like:

Who doesn’t love Helvetica? Answer: Nobody. But if it pisses you off, simulate the keyboard strikes with Impact:

How do I undo my stupid font selection?

Before we get to that, a few words about the /slackfont . Everything that you do can only be seen by you. So, no, you are not changing the visible font of your entire team to Wingdings, no matter how fun it is. (Slack is smarter than that. ) Your move is also fickle. To deselect a font, exit Slack and restart it. The boring default “Slack-lato” font in the application will reappear.

There is another trick: /slackfont into /slackfont to revert to the default font. Once again, you are safe from the horrors of overly annoying font choices.
