How to Get 2 for 1 From Amtrak Roomettes Before August 15
Around mid-March, travel plans for 2020 changed: “Maybe we can go somewhere for the Memorial Day weekend!” on “Maybe we can see the remaining members of our families for the holidays in 2022!” (Too dark?) OK, so it’s not really that extreme – some people have had the option of getting out of hiding in place in their own home into packing a car, driving on Airbnb, and then taking shelter in place in another house. Given that our world now consists of living in bubbles in which we can control our environment and feel (at least to some extent) safer, it is not surprising that campervan travel has become incredibly popular .
But a mobile home is not a practical and affordable option for everyone – what if you want to go somewhere without driving, but still crave the experience of sleeping in a moving vehicle ? Well, great news: Amtrak has another two-for-one sale . Here’s how to take advantage of the offer.
How to book an apartment with a discount
First of all, let’s talk about expectations. While it’s definitely more comfortable than spending the night trying to shape oneself that makes sleeping in one seat bearable, the roomettes Amtrak doesn’t exactly offer the old-world glamor of sleeper cars from old movies. However, these small private rooms not only allow you to travel while practicing social distancing, they also provide two seats that convert into upper and lower sleeping areas. Roomette passengers also have exclusive access to an in-car bath and shower, as well as towels and bed linen. Other perks include priority boarding, free lounge access and free meals on the train.
If that sounds attractive, you have until tomorrow (Saturday, August 15th) to take advantage of Amtrak’s buy-one-get-one sale . To book your tickets, use the Fare Finder here or enter the V538 code when booking your trip on the Amtrak app. To receive this discount, you must make a reservation at least three days before the trip, and it is not available on a road train.
Dates, prices and directions
Although the sale ends tomorrow, you can book travel tickets until September 30, 2020. And if you’re wondering where you can go and how much it will cost, here are some examples of fares:

- Atlanta, Georgia, to New Orleans, Louisiana, $ 243.
