Get Your Free Copy of Watch Dogs 2 Before Midnight Tonight

It doesn’t matter if you’ve listened to the last major Ubisoft press event or not; you can still get a free copy of the rather popular hacker PC game Watch Dogs 2 from the developer at a low cost. Trick? You must request a free game by midnight tonight (PT) or the deal – like some of Ubisoft’s executives in recent days – will evaporate.

I remember playing Watch Dogs 2 and briefly admiring what Ubisoft was trying to do with their weird interpretation of the San Francisco Bay Area. In the end, I dropped out of the game and chose to go back to more chaotic classics like Grand Theft Auto V or all thirty-five installments of the Assassin’s Creed series . That doesn’t mean I didn’t like what the Watch Dogs world had to offer; other styles of play just told me more at the time.

It’s free, though, and Watch Dogs 2 is good enough to play, so it’s worth dedicating some of your precious summer gaming hours to give it a try. You’re definitely sitting at home – because you’re smart and don’t feel the need to visit a crowded theme park and die – so why not while away the time with a not-so-old open-world game?

The very process of getting Watch Dogs 2 for free is the simplest part of it all. Visit this webpage , login to your Uplay account (or create one) and view all screens / tips. That’s all. Once you are successful, you will see this screen:

That’s all! You should now see Watch Dogs 2 in your Uplay desktop app and you should be able to start hacking without any problems. The Ubisoft Giveaway only covers the base Watch Dogs 2 game , not the associated DLC, so you’ll have to buy it all yourself if you get hooked on the hacky gameplay.

If you’re still struggling, here’s what I’ll do: get your copy of the game now, then spend some time watching people play it to see if it’s worth installing on your system. It costs nothing to link a free game to your account – or, in fact, takes a while. You don’t need to download it if you find your interest fluctuates.
