Throwing Ice Cream to Kids Is the Strangest Entertainment You’ll Have All Summer
If you’ve run out of ways to make this summer exciting, we have an offer you probably haven’t thought of yet – throw ice cream off the roof at your kids. Or rather, try tossing ice cream in the giant bowls your kids are holding and hope for the best.
This idea comes from Carrie of our Offspring Facebook group. Carrie has a patio on the second floor, so she didn’t really have to climb the roof (if you do, be careful!), But she calls it her “only favorite thing I’ve done in weeks.” She describes her experience:
It’s difficult! This is exciting! It’s not much different from the thrill of throwing an ax, but much safer!
Here:
If you don’t have a patio on the second floor or a low, safe roof, you can also lean out the window to drop the scoops. During a pandemic, it is important to be able to improvise when needed.
Carrie’s kids caught all the ice cream? No, of course not. I have noticed at least one sensation on earth, so she suggests that you use “cheap stuff” for this activity. But everything that the children caught was allowed to eat – and, according to her, it brightened up every day.
