Try Making Waffles Leftover Spaghetti

Leftover spaghetti stands alongside the best leftovers. In the refrigerator overnight, the aromas of the sauce merge and soak into the noodles, soaking them. My ex-boyfriend loves leftover spaghetti so much that he eats it cold, right out of the fridge, and that’s okay. Actually, I don’t know if there is a bad way to eat leftover spaghetti, but leftover spaghetti in waffles are some of the best.

However, this is not the easiest thing to do. Unlike SPAM , Honeybuns or even Bree’s wedges , spaghetti chatter is not the press end of his kind of deal. Spaghetti is slightly more brittle, slightly more scalding, slightly more cheese-covered.

In fact, cheese is very important to the waffle process. As with this cheese-topped mashed potatoes, the cheese forms a crust around the tender noodles, holding them together to form a cohesive waffle. Plus, it tastes very good. In this case, I prefer the cheddar to the parmesia, as the parma will burn before the noodles are completely dry. Cheddar cheese doesn’t burn as fast as the noodles (and parmesis), but it will still burn , so you may have to process this waffle a little longer than you’re used to.

For the best leftover spaghetti waffles, avoid large chunks of watery tomatoes as they release a lot of moisture when heated, creating a crumbly, burnt end product. Noodles with a little sauce and chunks of meat are ideal, although any large chunks of sausage or beef should be chopped into smaller chunks for even cooking. To make the leftover spaghetti waffles, you will need:

  • 1/2 cup leftover cold spaghetti, no large tomato chunks
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, halved
  • Basil or Parmesan for serving

Heat the waffle iron on medium to low. While it is heating, transfer the remaining spaghetti and two servings of cheese to three separate molds. Once the waffle iron is hot, quickly add the first serving of cheese, then the spaghetti, then the second layer of cheese, and close the waffle iron. Cook until everything is glued together in a waffle-shaped mass and the cheese is browned (check every 30 seconds or so). The spaghetti waffles will be very soft at first, so carefully remove them from the iron and place on a spatula, then transfer to a plate. Sprinkle with fresh basil and parmesan on top and eat.
