How to Make One Glass of Lemonade

When I think of lemonade, I always imagine a jug – this is the most palatable scale imaginable. But a whole pitcher of lemonade requires a lot of lemons , and sometimes I only have one. Although this is normal; a single lemon is all you need to make the perfect glass of lemonade.

Well, you also need a simple syrup, but one lemon is an acceptable amount of lemons for making lemonade. No simple syrup? Do It. Make a large serving by pouring two cups of white sugar into two cups of boiling water and stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool slightly, pour the syrup into a bottle and store in the refrigerator. You can use the syrup to make lemonade, but you can also use it to sweeten cold coffee or tea, smoothies (yes), sauces and salad dressings (not so much). It’s just good to be around.

Once your simple syrup is done, the tricky part is over and you’re ready to make one perfect glass of lemonade whenever you want (assuming you have one lemon). You don’t need any special tools – your hands will work just fine, but a juicer can make the process less sticky.

Instructions:

Squeeze the juice of one lemon directly into half a liter (or a glass of about the same size). Add syrup and water, stir and taste. If you want it to be a little sweeter, add another 1/2 teaspoon of plain syrup. Add some cocktail bitters or add some ginger brine to taste, stir again if you like, then add ice to chill. Drink, freshen up and repeat (if you have another lemon).
