Practically Attend Q&A and Show and Talk With Longtime Muppets Employees
Time to play music, time to turn on the lights. It’s time to virtually attend tonight in real time with three longtime Muppets employees. Correct: Today at 7:00 pm ET, the Museum of Moving Image in Queens, NY, will be streaming a live event featuring Craig Shemin, longtime employee of Jim Henson’s company and current president of the nonprofit Jim Henson Legacy .
It’s time to get to know the dolls
Shemin will host a live Q&A session with Stephanie D’Abruzzo (who has been a Muppeteer for the past 27 seasons on Sesame Street) and Jim Lewis (longtime Muppets staff writer). In general, they know what they are talking about. The trio will start off by answering questions from a live (virtual) studio audience – so this is definitely one you’ll want to catch when it’s live, if you can. Then, after Q&A, they will do a show-and-story muppet in which they identify (and then discuss) the artifacts associated with Henson.
It is part of the World of Jim Henson series at the Museum of the Moving Image, which also includes a permanent exhibition of Henson items, including some 500 donated artifacts from the Henson family, including historical dolls, costumes, production design materials and licensed merchandise. The series has regular events related to all kinds of dolls. Previously, they were held in person at the museum, but now, like many other things, they have moved online. Another live broadcast titled New Puppet Visions on Screen will take place on June 20.
How to watch
The event is free, but the museum asks you to answer in advance what you can do using this link . And if you would like to make the proposed $ 10 donation, you can do so here . This is a good investment right now because we could all use a little more dolls in our lives.
