Use a Chatbot to Speed up Amazon Returns
When you have a problem with an order on Amazon and need to make a return or request a refund, you will likely seek help from the site’s customer service representatives. Do not. Instead, take advantage of Amazon’s automated chatbot, which can give you back your money almost instantly or schedule a refund without wasting your time.
I have nothing against helpful Amazon customer service agents, but a bot can be much easier to deal with if you’re just trying to set up a simple return. I just found out about the chatbot from a recent Android police post about it earlier today, so I used the service to check for no delivery that was supposed to arrive yesterday.
It took me less than a minute to load the chat and report that the package was not delivered, despite the fact that I received a notification that it was sent yesterday (which included a photo of the package in the wrong house). Coincidentally, the package finally arrived when I tested the chatbot for this post, but nonetheless, I was able to get actionable advice on what to do if it didn’t, in a matter of minutes.
To try out the chatbot:
- Go to the Amazon Customer Service landing page: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/contact-us
- Scroll down and click “Start Chat”.
- A new window will appear with instructions on how to use text chat.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to select your order (s) and the issues you need help with.
- An automatic assistant will report any problems and suggest you next steps.
