Our Top Tips for Ironing
You may have been wearing sweatpants for months, but trust: There will come a time when you need to finally wear something good again. So you can take this opportunity to practice your ironing skills.
First, always iron your clothes straight from the washing machine – don’t even put them in the dryer. The heat of the iron will dry them out and make you hang the garment immediately, preventing it from forming further wrinkles and leaving it in the pile.
Line your ironing board with aluminum foil so that the heat reflects on both sides of the garment and acts on both sides at the same time. Also try some common household helpers: file clips to keep clothes from moving on the board, and hair clips to keep folds and folds in place.
Finally, the board itself is there to help you. With the square end, press the wide pieces of fabric up and down. The molded end is designed to penetrate smaller areas such as cuffs and collars.
Now you’re ready to put on your shirt and look great for the next three video conferences.
