This 15 Minute Morning Workout Is a Classic for a Reason
In this month’s Fitness Challenge, we redefined scientific seven-minute workouts and the Canadian antique-but -hardy 5BX . Let’s take a time machine back just a few years this week to 2016 when we brought you this 15 minute morning workout from Darby .
This is a simple circuit workout consisting of three rounds of the following:
- 20 jumpers
- 20 squats
- 20 lunges
- 10 push-ups
- 40 strokes
- 60 seconds elbow planks
- 2 minutes rest before starting the next round
This workout has been my favorite of the three we’ve done so far. He seemed particularly well balanced, you increase your heart rate using hops, train your legs using squats and then immediately work through more than his feet with the help of attacks. Then there are push-ups, which are heavy, but the shortest. The kicks give your legs a rest while you do a little cardio with your hands, and by the time you do the plank, you know you’re almost done.
I can’t do the plank for 60 seconds (at least not at the end of the circle), so I just watched my stopwatch app for the designated time, resting as needed while the timer kept running. I bet if I did this workout every morning, I would hit the 60 second bar in no time.
The workout started exactly 15 minutes later as announced, although I felt like I was accelerating through some movements. I wouldn’t be surprised if newbies take a little longer to do this, or if you need to adjust the number of repetitions a little.
However, this is a good option and I saw it as a comfortable procedure to sweat a little before jumping into the shower (but no, I’m not going to sleep in my sports bra, although thanks to the reader who suggested wearing sportswear instead pajamas. People without breasts, you have no idea how lucky you are.)
Try this – what do you think? Darebee has tons of similar one page workouts that you can print as PDFs. When we first posted this, a reader mentioned that they have a collection of printouts and that they pick a workout from the stack every day. Not a bad way to get a casual daily workout!
