How to Respond to Michelle Obama’s Invitation to the “virtual Graduation” for Alumni
Most personal graduation ceremonies from high school and college have been canceled this year due to the stay-at-home order.
Michelle Obama will host an online graduation ceremony on June 6 and you are invited. The ex-first lady announced the ceremony in her Instagram post :
As for # Classof2020 , I know how hard you all worked to get to release. You have spent long hours learning. You are carried away by extracurricular activities and extracurricular work. And you did your best to help your friends get through it all.
Some of you will be the first in your families to graduate from high school or college, which will make this holiday even more special. And I know that none of you imagined that you would close this chapter of your life with the help of your computer screen or phone. But I still want to make sure you get the holiday you deserve anyway.
That’s why, as part of my @reachhigher initiative , I’m working with @youtube Originals to give you a special virtual prom on June 6th. Whether you’re graduating from high school, college, or any other school, we want you, your family, and all of your loved ones to be a part of this celebration. And we want to do it right for all of you, so I’m inviting some very special guests, including @BarackObama, to help out on this momentous day.
It is reported that Michelle Obama will be speaking at the opening ceremony. Condoleezza Rice, Kelly Rowland, Lady and Malala Yusufzai, and Barack Obama are also expected to appear.
The event will be streamed live on YouTube on June 6 starting at 3:00 pm ET. If you would like to participate, you can reply now on the Reach Higher website .
