How to Whip Milk Without Any Fancy Tools

If you have a whipper, or better yet, a sophisticated espresso machine with a steam wand, you probably already enjoy hot drinks with luxurious milk foam every morning. But if you’re like me and are used to getting fancy coffee drinks at local coffee shops, you probably don’t have either, and that’s okay. You can make a stable mass of tiny milk bubbles using a blender or a French press.

First you need to warm up the milk. Heat it in a saucepan over medium to low heat until the temperature reaches 150 ℉ (small bubbles should form around the edges, but do not let it boil), then pour into a blender, remembering that the milk will expand. … Cover and beat on a medium level until the milk is frothy. (This is the case where I don’t recommend the immersion blender; it’s pretty messy.)

If you are using a French press, heat the milk as described above, then pour it into the French press, the filling will be about a third, then close it and with your hand on top to keep it stable, pump out. vigorously for about 10 seconds. Let the milk sit for about a minute, then pour it into a coffee drink (tea latte or hot chocolate).
