Make a Quick and Easy Meal With Instant Miso Soup
I’ve been eating a lot of instant miso soup lately, mostly for breakfast because it’s light and very spicy and the intense spicy taste is soothing (for me). I also find it soothing to eat chips and gravy; the repetitive motion of the shovel is almost meditative. The next obvious step was to combine the two.
If your miso soup is one bag, you can simply pour over half a cup of sour cream or Greek yogurt over the whole for a quick and easy way to make the chips. My instant miso comes in two parts, the miso in one foil bag and the dried sea vegetables and other pieces in the other. I like to add the miso all the way to the dairy and sprinkle the dried chunks on top, then mix it all together using the chips as a spatula and chew.
If you don’t have instant miso, pasta from the fridge is fine too. Just mix with spoons, tasting all the time, until your sauce is as flavorful as you like. Sprinkle with chopped nori, green onions from the window, or perhaps fried French onions on top. There are no hard and fast rules for making miso sauce. Have fun with it.
