How to Create a Watchlist Directly in Google Search
Now that we all spend a little more time watching TV and movies at home, it is more important than ever to maintain a reliable ‘what to watch’ queue. If you’ve signed up for a few new streaming services to keep yourself entertained in quarantine, it can also be much more difficult to manage, but a new feature in Google’s mobile search could help streamline the process.
Sure, making a list of what you’d like to see is easy when you’re using just one streaming service, but if you’ve doubled down on your options or taken advantage of free trials or two , keeping track of what interests you across all of them can be a little overwhelming. …
Yesterday Google added a new feature to its mobile search that allows you to create a watchlist while browsing the web: now when you search for a movie or TV show on Google on your phone, you’ll see a Watchlist button next to that in the search results. When you click on it, the program will be added to your personal watchlist in the search engine.
The next time you’re looking for something to watch, you can simply Google search for “My Watchlist” to see all the options you’ve put together.
If you need help figuring out what to add to the queue, last year Google launched a TV and movie-in-search recommendation engine that can help with a few suggestions. Search for “what to watch” on Google for recommendations.
The first time you try it, click the Providers link at the top of the results to indicate which streaming services you subscribe to. Google will save your settings and recommend further actions depending on which services you use, and now which movies and TV shows you have added to your watchlist.
If you already know what you want to watch but just don’t know how to watch it, I’m a big fan of the Just Watch app , which lets you type in the name of the movie or TV show you’re trying to watch. take a look and find out what services are currently offering it for free, as well as where and how much it will cost you to rent.
