Check Out These Free Coloring Pages for Kids of All Ages
There’s a reason adult coloring books became popular a few years ago – there’s something soothing about taking a pencil, marker, or crayon to paper and creating a colorful masterpiece by simply filling in what someone else has already drawn for you. It’s pointless, but satisfying. This is exactly what we all need right now.
If your kids haven’t figured out every coloring book they’ve ever had, they will soon. Fortunately, we live in a time when organizations and artists are offering tons of new free coloring pages faster than we can even color them – all you have to do is download and print.
We’ve rounded up our favorites by age range.
For small children
Design and engineering firm Olsson has created this collection of over 20 simple coloring pages that depict cars and nature in a fun and geometrically pleasing way.
Equally creative are these pages on birds and animals from the Lewis and Clark route. They are offered by the National Park Service and are pretty simple and cute for little kids – prairie dogs , huh?
Melissa and Doug have published several options for young children, including a ” Teddy Bear Inspection, ” an astronaut in space and a bakery scene , and other printouts to draw . And Nickelodeon has several variations that feature favorite shows and characters such as Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, SpongeBob, and The Loud House.
Itsy Bitsy Fun is also worth a try , especially for his, ahem, Mother’s Day collection.
For big kids
Artist Justin Hillgrove offers free PDFs of his Demons and Monsters coloring pages, and they are exactly what convinces your teenager that coloring them is still very cool. Here’s my favorite :
These Star Wars Grid Coloring Pages from Woo! Younger people are also a good substitute for teenagers who may want to color but still want it to be a little more advanced than what they did when they were younger. Plus, they’ll learn to read a simple datasheet in the process, and heck, THIS is academic.
Also, as far as I understand, you can’t go wrong with Lego superheroes .
For teenagers (or adults!)
Artist Danika Bautista is currently offering some beautiful printable coloring pages, mostly floral-themed, for free. On her website, Bautista writes:
I know that the times we all live in now are surreal and stressful for many people. I’m just one of many who got fired, and I try my best to keep my mind from wandering in dark places. To stay sane, I’ve been busy creating these fun coloring pages for those who also need an outlet to get creative. You can download any of these coloring pages for free to color in digital form or to print.
Woo! Jr. There is also a coloring page with spring flowers and birds for adults. May I suggest starting with a dahlia and dragonfly design ? Or for all of us nerds, download Coloring Cells so you can color in and learn about DNA , neurons and adipocytes while relaxing.
This is just the beginning, and you can also just, you know, search in Google Images , especially if your child wants something very specific or wants to browse LOTS of options. Google helps by breaking down the search into the most popular categories like Disney, Minecraft, Flowers, Dragons, Mermaids and many more.
