Check Out This List of Educational Broadcasts for Kids
Every day we hear about a new educational live broadcast that our kids can or should be tuned in to. Virtual museums and zoos, science demonstrations – even virtual gym sessions . The resources are there; the challenge is to keep them all straight.
Fortunately, someone else is already doing this part for us. Everywhere School , which we discovered via quick links on kottke.org, is streaming educational live daily during the pandemic. There are clubs, cooking lessons, art lessons, concerts, dance lessons – and so on.
The list is easy to browse, from streams currently live to upcoming scheduled streams for the rest of the day. You can also look ahead to see what’s streaming tomorrow or later in the week if you really enjoy planning ahead. In most cases, even if you’re not currently streaming, you can go to the organization’s or host’s YouTube channel or Facebook page to view previous videos in their collection.
Keep in mind that, as always, you should still check what your kids are watching. I have not seen streams that look completely inappropriate, but Everywhere School says on their website that while they do their best to make the content child-friendly, “it’s possible that inappropriate or offensive content could be included by accident. Everywhere School will do our best to check the streams it recommends, but we have no control over the content displayed. “
So keep an eye on things and put the stamp of parental approval on their choices, that’s what they say. And if you know of other live streams that should be included in their list, you can submit them here .
