IOS Keyboard Features You Might Have Missed
The default iOS keyboard in iOS 13 is full of useful features that you might have missed. In the video above, I talk about three features that I use all the time.
Move the cursor easily while typing
There is nothing more annoying than trying to precisely move a tiny cursor to type with your finger. Fortunately, there is an easier way: just press and hold the space bar and you will see the letter keys disappear. Keeping your finger pressed, simply move it in any direction to easily control this annoying cursor.
Special symbols
Long pressing on certain characters will bring up a submenu of special characters such as “é”. This is especially useful in multilingual conversations and lengthy Pokémon arguments. (Fun fact: this trick also works on a desktop OS.)
Swipe to enter
At first, flipping through the text seems unintuitive given how bad some prediction algorithms can be. But iOS predictions are stunningly accurate, and scrolling is much faster than clicking when you hit a groove, especially if you can only use one hand.
