Siri May Now Ask Questions About Coronavirus

If you have questions about the coronavirus, you now have another source to get answers to: Siri.

Apple updated Siri this weekend to include several coronavirus screening questions. Although this is absolutely not a substitute for a conversation with a doctor, when the virtual assistant asks: “Do I have a coronavirus?” will prompt the assistant to answer a series of questions about your symptoms. Based on your answers, the assistant may suggest that you see a healthcare professional or advise you to monitor your symptoms.

This is how it looks on my iPad:

Siri will also guide you through telemedicine apps to help you connect with a healthcare provider from your home. All information it provides is obtained from the CDC.

If you’re an Android user, Google also has a COVID-19 portal with information about the virus, as well as prevention tips and local resources. Google Assistant can help with this information as well, although visiting the hub directly is much more efficient. It also contains information about testing for people in the Bay Area, available from a website powered by Verily . This site is expected to be rolled out to other regions in the future.
