Yes, You Can Go for a Run.
To stay home. This is the first rule of self-isolation and social distancing. But after a while, you might want to go outside and move, and I have good news for you: if you can do it all alone, you can go for a run.
Remember, the way to stop the spread of COVID-19 is to think of yourself as a link in the chain. You don’t want to pick up the virus anywhere and don’t want to pass it on to anyone else if in fact you are sick (whether you know about it or not). So, the best practices are as follows:
- keep six feet away from other people
- do not touch things that other people touch
Whether you lace up your shoes and head out into the woods or just jogging through the deserted streets, you are golden. Now is also a great time to go cycling, walking or hiking. Try birdwatching at least once.
Don’t run in a crowded area or with a large group of people (many organized races like marathons are canceled anyway), but if you just want to go jogging, enjoy.
