Use Silica Gel Bags to Protect Condiments, Razors and Old Books
Silica gel bags are often found in most of the things we unpack, but what do they do ? It pretty clearly states that they cannot be eaten, since how else can they be used in the house?
Small bags of desiccant are housed in boxes to absorb moisture, so they can also be used in small spaces to keep humidity low (and therefore extend the life of some common household products prone to water-based mold or rot).
Just store leftover silica gel bags along with dry foods in the pantry to prevent spoilage. They can prevent tools and razors from rusting, and remove the moldy smell of old books, photo albums, or sports bags.
And if you want to continue to reuse them, simply dry them in the 200-degree oven to restore their absorbency.
