Contigo Remembers Millions of Baby Water Bottles Again
If your kids use Contigo water bottles with silicone spouts, you may remember that millions of them were recalled for choking hazards back in August . Well, now the removable covers are being recalled as well after hundreds of reports of detached spouts.
Contigo has recalled 5.7 million baby cleaning water bottles and expanded this recall to include new replacement caps. Affected vials have a transparent silicone spout with a black base and a black cap (see picture). They were sold in three sizes (13 oz, 14 oz and 20 oz) and four colors (solid color, graphics, stainless steel and solid stainless steel colors) in packs of one, two and three bottles.
The review, released on February 19, states in part that “consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water bottles and new caps provided in the previous recall, take them away from the kids, and contact Contigo for a free bottle of water.”
The bottles were sold primarily in the United States (some were also sold in Canada and Mexico) at Costco, Walmart, Target and other stores across the country and online from April 2018 to February 7, 2020.
Customers can contact Contigo at 888-262-0622 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm ET Monday through Friday or online at www.gocontigo.com/recall . Exact replacements are not offered, but affected customers can select a new bottle from a list of bottles in various sizes, colors and patterns.
