How to Install the Google Crash Detection App on Older Pixel Phones
According to early developer builds of the upcoming Android 11, the exclusive Pixel 4 Car Crash Detection app will hit older Pixel devices when the big Android update arrives later in 2020, but you can try it earlier if you don’t. I want to wait. An early version of the app was pulled from the Android 11 developer build and ported to older Pixel phones, and you can download it to your device right now.
How to Download Car Crash Detection App on Old Pixel Phones
- Download the app installation file from the Mirror APK .
- When the download is complete, tap the file to start the installation.
- Click to allow installation from unknown sources if prompted, then wait for the installation to complete.
Remember, this is only possible with older Pixel phones. Other Android devices might download and try to install the app, but it won’t work.
How to use car crash detection
- Open the app on your phone’s app screen.
- The first time you launch the app, you will be prompted to add contact and medical information for emergencies. This is the information your phone will send automatically if it detects a car accident.
- Tap the gear-shaped Settings icon, then go to Driving> Crash Detection and turn on Crash Detection.
The app will now run in the background and automatically contact first responders and emergency contacts if it detects a potential car accident and you can’t reach your phone.
