Give These Fake Draw Numbers to Creeps
Let’s say you’re in town with your friends when a stranger turns the conversation from normal to creepy and then asks for your phone number. Give them one and leave.
Back in 2018, Twitter user @tricookingqueen went viral with a tweet filled with fake phone numbers to give to creeps . Great idea, but unfortunately most of the tweet numbers no longer work, including the hilarious “I’m Groot” hotline. But it got me thinking that there must be some fake numbers that still work. After digging around, I found the following:
- (646) 926-6614 : Mary Sue Refusal Hotline who will say, “Oh, hello. If you hear this message, then the woman is feeling insecure and / or disrespectful. Please learn to accept a negative response and respect women’s emotional and physical independence. THANKS “. Best of all, it also sends texts and waits an hour to send the text after receiving it, so you have time to bounce back.
- (719) 266-2837 : Call and Oates, which allows callers to select a classic Hall and Oates song to play.
- (605) 475-6968: hotline for refusal, politely explain that the person that the person who gave him the number, it is not interesting.
- (888) 447-5594 : Easter Egg Hotline to complete the first God of War. “By the gods you did it!”
- (206) 569-5829 : The Loser Line, a Seattle radio station phone number that people who don’t want to call can call and leave a message. These recorded messages will sometimes be broadcast during the station’s morning show.
While these fake numbers still work, there are a few things to keep in mind when using them. First, most of these numbers only work when they are actually called. When you give out your number, you might say something about that you are old school and that they should call you instead of text, or mention that you hate texting.
They are also more ideal when a creep asks for your online number. If you provide a fake number in person, be sure to use it as an escape plan and not as a deterrent. Give the number and leave, otherwise they may try to call or text you immediately so that “you have their number too” and they will understand your trick. If there is anything worse than a freak, it is an angry freak.
If you need a real deterrent, consider using the Burner app . You can give out a fake burner number that you can delete whenever you want, and if they try to call or text you immediately, it will indeed appear on your phone. They will leave you alone and you can spend the rest of the night knowing that you can remove this fake number whenever you want.
