How to Try Out the New Facebook Redesign

Facebook is allowing users to test out a beta version of its upcoming redesign, which is slated for full rollout later this year. You can enable the new look by logging into Facebook and selecting View Facebook Beta at the top of the news feed – however, this option may not be available to everyone.

If you don’t see this option in your news feed, you can also try clicking the arrow icon in the upper right corner and select “View Facebook Beta” from the drop-down menu.

The updated user interface redesigns and simplifies the Facebook interface, makes it easier to open conversations in Messenger, and adds new icons and buttons. You will get a quick overview and explanation of the changes when you first turn on the beta design, as well as the option to switch to dark mode if you’re interested.

If you’ve turned on the beta of the redesign but don’t feel the new look, you can undo the changes and easily revert to the “classic” Facebook user interface. Just click or tap your profile picture in the upper right corner of the page to open the quick menu, then select Switch to classic Facebook. Facebook actually shows you how to do this when you first enable the new design, but it’s worth looking into if you’ve forgotten or didn’t notice where the setting was.

Changes like these can cause controversy, so it’s great that Facebook allows users to revert to the old site design if they want to. How long you can keep using the old interface is unclear, but I suspect it will be possible to revert to previous versions while the new design is in “beta”.
